Our Location

Situated just 12 miles north of Aviemore, Bydand B&B is located near the victorian village of Grantown-On-Spey. Guests who stay at Bydand B&B have the opportunity to experience The Cairngorm National Parks natural beauty at its best, including wildlife (including Ospreys), and malt whisky distilleries, or can simply enjoy the varied year round outdoor activities in the comfort of first class Highland chic accommodation.

Bydand B&B is ideally located for enjoying all the outdoor activities that Aviemore, the hub of the Scottish highlands as to offer.  Activities include winter skiing, dog sledding, hiking, walking, cycling or a gentle sail at in the shadows of the Cairngorms. Guests can perhaps opt for a more lazy afternoon with a picnic at Loch Morlich or Bird Watching at the Osprey Centre, or simply attend great events throughout the summer including music festivals, and events from chainsaw carving to porridge making, not forgetting the numerous Highland games, vintage cars shows and scottish ceildhs.

We are perfectly located for the most iconic of all – “Thunder in the Glens”, when the Cairngorms National Park invite 1000’s of Harley Davidson enthusiasts to “thunder through our Glens.  These are sounds and sights that should not to be missed. This fabulous free event takes place each and every year on bank holiday weekend in August.

We are a short scenic drive from Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, and Cawdor and Brodie Castle.

Bydand is perfectly positioned for exploring the Cairngorm National Park, Speysde The Moray Firth, coastline and beaches Inverness, Loch Ness, and the dolphin watching areas on the Black Isle Built in the 1920’s Bydand is situated in a quiet woodland location with uninterrupted views of the Cairngorm Mountains. A location that is a playground for wildlife from red squirrels to young roe deer playing in the field in front of the house.

Of course there is the Bydand hens that produce eggs daily for the breakfast and my own two dogs Macintosh (Mac) a Bichon Frise and Benji a west highland terrier aged 16

By Car | From the North : A9 – A938

Drive south on A9 from Inverness take exit for Carrbridge. At Carrbridge take left fork at hotel, and follow this road until you  arrive at Dulnain Bridge. Take first right over bridge and follow this road  Bydand is 2nd house on left.

By Car | From the South : A9 – A95 – A938

Drive on A9 bypassing Aviemore take junction signposted Carrbridge / Elgin and Whisky Trail. At the next junction take a left, continue this road for approx 9 miles. Take the left right, signposted A938 for Dulnain Bridge. You will find Bydand first on your right.

By Car | From East A95 – A938

Take the Grantown on Spey bypass at roundabout follow signs for Aviemore & A9/Perth, passing by Craggan Outdoors activity centre on left. Continue along the A95 for a further 500 meters and take exit on right sign posted Dulnain Bridge. Bydand B&B is the first house on your right.

By Train | To Aviemore Station

Bydand B&B is located approx 12 mile from the Aviemore Rail Station, which can be accessed from mainline rail stations such as Inverness (45 mins), Edinburgh (3 hours), or Glasgow (4 hours).  Carrbridge Rail Station, which has limited stops, is situated 8 miles from our location.

By Air | To Inverness

Bydand is located 30 miles south of Inverness Airport (with frequent daily flights to Manchester, London and Bristol) and is accessible by rail, or for those who prefer to travel in style, we can arrange a prestige or classic car to collect and/or drop you off at the Airport.
